We Want a Celebration
It was in Eighteen Hundred and Sixty Two, on a summer's afternoon that the bus was first loaded
for Blaydon. And come June 9th 2012, it will be the 150th anniversary of that auspicious day. We
are petitioning for Geordies everywhere with a sense of regional pride to sign our petition to
persuade local councils and businesses that this key date should not go by unrecognised. Please

The Hotspur in Percy Street will be hosting a beer festival with at least 6 Cask Ales brewed by local breweries for the 150th Anniversary of the Blaydon Races.

Newcastle City Council in association with the Sage Gateshead are hosting a Centrepiece event at Grey's Monument. The entertainment will be on stage from 1-5pm. Details of performers will be finalised in the next few weeks.
